Dheean puttar mehal marhiyan eh vi te sabh maya ey;
Joban ate javaani loko eh vi dhaldi chhaya ey. Mitti ey jo kujh vi disdai mitti ey jo kaya ey; Ek din sabh ne jana ethon jo vi jag vich aaya ey. Lakh karoran da toon maalak rehna palle kakkh nahin; Kahe avtar koi na tera je sir murshad hatth nahin. |

Sons, daughters, palaces and mansions, all these too are an illusion;
O' men, this beauty, this youth too is like a fleeting shadow. All that you see is dust and this human body too is nothing but dust; Whosoever has come in this world shall depart on the appointed day. You may possess lakhs and crores, but nothing shall remain with you at last; Avtar says none is yours, if you do not have the protection of the True Master. |
Meaning
Sons, daughters, palaces and mansions, all these too are an illusion (Maya). O' people, this beauty and this youth are also like a passing shadow. All that you see is dust and this human body too is nothing but dust. Who so ever has come in this world shall depart on the appointed day. You may possess lakhs and crores but nothing will remain with you at last. Baba Avtar singh ji says that none is yours, if you do not have the protection of the True Master.
